Wound strings with carbon monofilament core (solid carbon)

These are remnants from the workshop of Hendrik Hasenfuss. Missing diameters or lengths can be supplemented or combined with the HF-Strings from our range.

Attention: Diameter in carbon equivalent! The gut equivalent is given in brackets!

Description

The strings were manufactured exclusively by the Lenzner Company.

Strings for the middle and bass register of baroque lute, arciliuto and chitarrone. But they can also be used on other instruments. Their sound is less brilliant compared to the multifilament core strings and thus more like a wound gut string.

Please note when stringing the instrument:

1. The wound string is protected against loosening at the ends of the string by a thread bobbin. Therefore, first bring the string through the peg to the desired length, wind it up, tune it and only then cut off any excess at the peg!

This prevents the wirewinding from loosening before the string is wound, which would otherwise make the string unusable!

2. The string becomes slightly thicker due to the thread bobbin, so it may happen that the holes in the peg and/or in the bridge have to be widened to accommodate the string! However, the actual diameter with thread winding is in any case less than the stated equivalent Diameter.
