Description

The Luxline looks like an open wound gut string. In contrast to this, the copper or silver wire is embedded in the gut string. We thus achieve an almost smooth surface without disadvantages for the touching hand or the bow. The Luxline allows a smooth transition between wound and plain gut strings. The Luxline with copper wire is also a convincing tonal alternative for lutes, especially for the extended bass strings of the theorbo, chitarrone and arciliuto. Without dominating, it gives the instrument an accentuated sound in the respective range of use. Luxlines with real silver wire have slightly more brilliance and lighter response than those with copper wire, but are only available up to diameter 1.65 mm (equivalent diameter).
